Our Story
Kumbuk Villa stands in the serene village of Suduwella, symbolizing the strength and unity of a family deeply rooted in Sri Lankan traditions. Through countless conversations and shared dreams, a mother, father, five sisters, and a brother created this retreat to honor their heritage and give back to their roots. Every element of the villa was thoughtfully designed to reflect a part of their family story, with seven pillars symbolizing the family’s core and rooms named after varieties of Sri Lankan rice, paying homage to their agricultural heritage.

Kumbuk Villa features grand social areas, including a ballroom made of Kumbuk wood and a dining terrace ideal for various gatherings. Our dedicated team, including a private butler, housekeeping, and villa support, ensures an exceptional stay. Guests are greeted each morning with a gourmet breakfast, complete with Sri Lankan tea, herbal soups, and king coconut drinks, set against the delightful backdrop of parrots and endangered monkeys.

Our meditation center, nestled amidst the natural beauty of the villa, is a sanctuary for introspection and mental rejuvenation. Inspired by the original teachings of Buddha on Satipattana – introspection and awareness – our mindfulness practice focuses on purifying the mind, helping guests achieve cognitive consonance and mental equilibrium.
Kumbuk Villa offers a unique opportunity where luxury, nature, and mindfulness converge. Spanning over 7,000 square feet and encompassed within 2.5 acres of a rubber estate, Kumbuk Villa blends the intimacy of a private luxury villa with the amenities of an exclusive resort. With four elegantly appointed bedrooms accommodating up to 16 guests, the villa provides an intimate ambiance akin to a five-star hotel, surrounded by verdant fields and expansive decking.
